Even without them it looks pretty bad. It's the overabundance of "scars" (that don't even really look like scars) that drag the design down so much.

One thing that REALLY grinds my gears and is a huge red flag for retardation is when the fakemon exists merely to justify a pun. No, this is not the fucking same as a pokemon's name being a pun. One case is where you thought up a creative pokemon and gave it a clever pun name, another case is where you thought up something retarded like "harlequin could sound like it has howl at the beginning, so I'll mash up two things which have nothing to do with each other just because I like the sound of that." Without fail, whenever you point this out to the average brainlet, you get "how is this different than squirtle!" because they came up with squirtle first and the name second. Shit like Howlequin is NOTHING without the stupid tenuous pun, and it makes even less sense to base pokemon off of an ENGLISH pun that works in no other language. This last point being an incomprehensible concept to other tards who incessantly ask for dragon typed dragonflies

I think some original mega-evos tend to have some element of the pre-evos, so it must follow those or rules or at least change the pokémon in an interesting way and not just adding some little details, or letting it be more edgy/badassXD, or exagerrating the whole design.

I think good Fakemon have to follow the design philosophy that pokemon currently has now. Its less about making something look cool, and more about making something that accurately depicts what it's based off of. Good designs have layers, and if the design only follows something like "fire cheetah" or "water dog", then it isn't a good design. Like or not, all pokemon have to have a reason to exist in the region they exist in.
