Everyone has one. That physical cart you can't ever delete your save off of. Because it's that one game. Post which game, your trainer name, and your time. Add feels as appropriate.

When my Gold battery died, I learned to let it go and also to not play games if I don't have a way yo back up saves. I've long since recouped with my Gold VC save and backed it up across several hard drives but it's not the original and I don't have any special attachment beyond the fact that I still put a couple hundred hours into it.

I got this game in April of 2007, IIRC. The bulk of those hours were spent breeding and subsequently RNG abusing (I learned around 2009) everything I could. Such a /comfy/ game.

I can't. The Pokemon have mostly been moved on, but the Join Avenue, the memories, the things I can never touch again without the WFC that's defunct.

Good fucking times man. Really miss the old days of just sitting at home on Sunday, tucked in a nice blanket while its rainy outside, cluelessly exploring the pokemon world until smelling the homecooked meal from mum and going downstairs to eat the delicious Sunday meal.

My original Crystal cart, had 4 shines. Gave it to my high school ex girlfriend in 9th grade for her birthday, along with my only melee disk. She broke my heart, and I never got either back.

My Silver battery dying hit me like a brick wall. I spent so many hours talking with kids at school trying to figure out how to evolve certain mons, catching them all, then getting it in my head that I needed to level everything to 100 (never quite did it, but got an embarrassingly large amount there)
When I saw it was gone, with zero proof left of its existence, all of the nicknames gone, no pictures or screenshots, all those friends I'd made temporary and gone, I felt like absolute shit.

Don’t really have one. I regret deleting my original Sapphire save years and years ago. Still don’t know why, since I could’ve just replayed Hoenn by getting Ruby or waiting for Emerald. I was a dumb kid. I think I still have my original Diamond save though?

lmao you faggots need to stop letting the past obstruct the future. your saves have a grand total value of diddly dick, especially today. no save file is unique, everything is reproducible and happens according to arbitrary, but predictable programming. i could get a rom, fuck around in pkhex or whatever tool i need, use warp edits or savestates to activate the flags i needed, and bam, i'd get a file identical (and better) to yours.
find the game once while cleaning, say "hey, i haven't played this in so long", explore the file a bit, reminisce, laugh at the autistic name you gave that eevee, and then up + b + x or new game that shit and go on to creating more, better memories with that game.
