This is the worst series of the anime. Like this show really is terrible.

The new animation is still bad, they make use of it only during important moments or Z moves. Otherwise everything is flat and stilted. Characters and Pokémon move incredibly slow and a lot of the times it looks Like panning shots as if this was Shokugeki no Souma

And the battles are the worst offenders of this as they are the most boring and dull battles this series has ever had

Biggest breath of fresh air the series ever got, unless you LIKE that shite ould "meet male gym leader and beginner female trainer of region, travel region, with inevitable gym battle against travelling companion, get involved in game plot, resolve all that, lose in league". FWIW - that wouldn't have worked in Alola (lack of gyms notwithstanding) the islands are too small to support a travelling sideshow.
Rest assured baby, the old trite formula will return with Gen VIII and I shall bid adieu again - only watching SM as it's not all what I listed above, instead doing something different this time out. If I were in charge over there, I'd have next year's have just Ash/Satoshi+Pikachu as the only constant protags and have a rotating, interchanging cast of companions to travel part of the ways woith at any one time - anything but go back to the old rote, even though I know it'll happen.

honestly, I'm 30 not and I never could watch pokemon anime as adult, xy/xyz changed that a little but SM stepped up it's game a lot, but I realized that the quality dropped somewhere in the middle both in animation and story :C it doesn't feel consistent anymore but episodes are good

Rowlet is the most Popular alolan Pokémon in both here and Japan. Similar to piplup in gen 4. I wouldn't be surprised if Hau has a Decidueye.

I don't hate the school setting and the comfy atmosphere. But ash's retarded face is what repels me from watching the anime. The change in art style was completely unneccesary. One of the major factor that compelled people to drop this season might be because it came after an action packed/blockbuster like XYZ.

In japan, yes.
But I haven't seen Rowlet over Decidueye on any big or little poll here in the u.s. the Americans seem to like fully evolved Pokemon over first stage ones. And Decidueye is extremely more popular here than japan.

The Formula started to get Stale in dppt really was only saved by contest and league
While bw the formula was dead and had to bring back charizard to get the show running again

Lemme tell you a little something - what the US thinks/feels/hopes or wants has no bearing on the anime, its characters or the stories it tells. What matters is how much merch is helps sell domestically (whole thing is like a 20-minute toy ad like cartoons back in the 80's were, only with a less heavy-handed moral lesson somewhere in the ep) and Rowlet is more popular with Japan by a country mile. They are not giving up that fat little cash-cow and certainly not just to evolve it to the least-popular 3rd stage of Alola, to satisfy some western sperg who doesn't even buy merch.

How would evolving rowlet mess up his sells if prima sells good without any shilling?
The fact is Nintendo's stock is still dropping. They got the Japanese and maybe Canada market on check but it seems like they are losing interest on most of the western side. Decidueye is still popular here but gf keeps on messing it up. Giving ash a Decidueye and still producing Rowlet merch seems like a win win for both sides.
