I rewatched the anime recently and the fight was underwhelming. I suppose everyone liked it because it was one of the only real battle of season 1

It pisses me off because Charizard decided to be a major faggot during the league. Fuck Charizard, he didn't even try like greninja or the other shillmons he just sat on his fat ass and made Ash lose. After Ash not only saved his fatass from near death but also obtained all the badges in kanto which in turn should've guaranteed Charizards loyalty. I know its the anime but still it pisses me off.

Agreed. It was just dumb, lazy, bad writing. Charmander and Charmeleon had fine development. Charmander was a good kid, Charmeleon was like a rebellious teen, and Charizard should’ve been a loyal bro.
