Can we get an emulation thread going?

Specifically, I've got a question: can Citra (or any other emulator) run any Gen VI / VII games at the moment? I tried Pokemon X but it doesn't work.

OP here, just tried to get a ROM for Sun, or even Ultra Sun, but nothing I've downloaded seems to work

Has anyone else managed to run a Gen VI or VII game using Citra?

X/Y are unplayable up to now. do not touch. haven't touched ORAS, though they do run from what i've read.
Gen VII runs just fine. make sure you're downloading the decrypted ROMs and grab the shared fonts off YouTube.

I've got a decrypted rom of Sun, and I can tell that it's running (it's making noise), but the screen is just grey - pic related.

I'm downloading US at the moment so maybe that will work. And maybe I should try ORAS.

Are you using the latest Citra nightly? And I'm guessing you're on Windows (although that shouldn't matter really)?

well idk man, not too familiar with how Macs work. actually they do seem a bit more tricky to diagnose with how walled-off the system files are by comparison lol.

i'm in bed right now and nowhere near my computer so i can't know for sure why you're only seeing grey screens. hope you get to solve it soon though

X/Y uses a diferent sound system from other 3ds games, Citra's sound emulator is made to emulate the system that is the most common so X/Y doesn't work. you can boot it, run the intro(which won't have any music) and then you'll get black screen
that's as much as I can explain

Do you need a NASA computer to run Sun/Moon or do I have the wrong settings/version? I tried playing it once and I got like 10 FPS.

Use nightly instead of canary and turn on the GPU setting. Brought me up from the 20 FPS hellhole to running at 4x resolution with no issue.
