>>36075997>And dont even pretend dexnav pokemon having egg moves is a moot point.Actually it literally is.
The DexNav was the Chaining feature of the game, and its purpose was to improve the variety of the Region. So when Gen 7 has a superior Chaining method and stronger variety to boot, any bonus features are moot because the primary functions of the feature are objectively better in Gen 7.
If you really want to cry about the Egg Moves, then you also have to take into account Gen 7's Chaining bonuses, like;
>Not needing to exit battles to continue the Chain>Not needing to crawl slowly to encounter a new Pokemon (much slower than waiting for new Pokémon to appear)>Not needing to literally grind thousands of encounters for the Chain to work as intended like the DexNav>Much faster reward time for your chain in terms of odds for HA and Shinyness>Much higher rewards for IV's, something much more useful than the Egg MovesGen 7's Chaining Method means you can be rewarded with a Pokémon that can be trained to be usable from the second you catch it, including the Shinies that most people will be extensively Chaining for in the first place. The lower-reward, lower-IVs (and no way to raise them) Chaining method of Gen 6 means not only is the method overall much slower and clunkier, but those Egg Moves are not actually most likely going to benefit the Pokémon you have chained. At best they're just an easy way to get Pokémon you can then use to breed for offspring to try and get better IV's if you really wanted Pokémon with those moves.
