Triple Battles were too clunky. They were really just two Double Battles overlayed on each other. Rotation Battles are less popular because they rely on chance.

Rotation battles is literally the same shit as regular battles, except that switching doesn't waste a turn. It's just as luck based as any pokemon battle

In-game, Gamefreak couldn't put them in Gen 6 or 7 without the game slowing down. Anime, probably too much work for the animators and writers.

I really fucking hated some of the "surprise" triple battles in BW2. That faggot on Twist Mountain was the worst.

Also, both triple and rotation battles were rare in the generation they were introduced in. Six of them in BW1, thirteen of them in BW2. If not for them being available in battle facilities they would be the equivalent of Sky Battles in rarity.

Because they're too retarded to figure out how to use lower res versions of the models so they didn't want to draw attention to the kinda slideshow they caused.

Then with the trainer on screen too, it probably made the OG 3DS and 2DS explode so they had to remove it and rotations battles for Gen 7.

Doubles is the only format where you get fast, fun gameplay that allows the players to utilize all of the moves and strategies the game has to offer to their intended and designed degrees, without worrying it the mechanics of Triple Battles will screw things over.

then when the games basically did fuck all to introduce you to the mechanic. think of it this way, would people really give as much of a shit about double battles if Colosseum or XD hadn't come along to give you two whole games to appreciate the deepness of the format?
