They can't fire people who don't work them.

Creatures Inc., the company who makes the models, is a separate company owned by Nintendo.

Creatures Inc. is bigger and has more money than Game Freak themselves.

the models Creatures inc gave them were just the basics, a tool. It was Gamefreak's job to integrate them well with the games and they did poor job with that, actually a non-existed job since they just pressed Ctrl C Ctrl V and got done with it for 4 pairs of games

that isnt because the model is bad, fixing the lighting, poses, animation, textures and colors would go miles. though some of the models definately need some touch ups they dont need to redo all of them completely.
