>>36090289>>36090231I think the backlash comes from the fact that he's definitely the most popular one and people feel like he's misusing his skill yet he gets all the attention for it. He may not say it, but the rest of the internet says "Oh he's THE realistic pokemon guy, he should work on DEM MOVIES!" and if your favorite Pokémon is Giratina, you'd understandably get annoyed about this. If it's any random artist you can just move on, but there's that generally accepted idea that this is how they should look like in real life, NOBODY is posting the other more creative artists that do the same thing and that's what annoys people. However, I think this isn't even the case, nobody is actually that mad about it, they're just seeing it on /vp/ once every few weeks and discussing and stating their opinions about it, he's the only relevant artist in this topic and the only one that consistently gets posted.
TL;DR:
> There's art out there for everyone, seek it out, people.Nobody posts it
>There's plenty of competent drawings of a more draconic realistic Giratina or what have youNobody pays attention to it, they pay attention to Arvalis and suck his dick
> But people who COMPLAIN CONSTANTLY about an independent artist who never set out to satisfy fans' personal tastes get on my nerves>some folks here get way too bent out of shape about it.Nobody is actually that angry about it, people sound and sometimes make themselves sound angrier online. Arvalis is just the one that always gets posted, so people always reply to posts about him, not because he's the worst but because there's more material to talk about and more threads to reply to (which at the same time is due to his popularity). Think of Sakimichan for shitty realistic anime art or Kynim for the nuzlockes.
