People with shit taste, yes. Gen 5 being the last good games is often said from an oblective standpoint by viewing the pros and cons in gen 5 stacked against the pros and cons of other gens in 1:1 comparison.

I think it's completely right.
Gen 5 started the downward spiral, but bw2 were still fun to explore and had a decent amount of content.
XY was the point of no return, it seems. And I don't count LGPE as mainline games no matter what anyone says.
It's a Go spinoff, it's even in the title.
