Nothing would change if you removed from the XY friends from the game.

A lot would change if Lillie was removed.

That's what I mean. The XY friends contribute nothing to the game. Lillie is practically the real protagonist.

Nope, she helps you with Furfrou, plays distraction for Team Flare grunts in Pokeball Factory and in their hideout. She also gives you Waterfall.

She's not huge character but she's basicallly the same level as Hau in SM

As far as I remember, the only reason you went storming the Aether Foundation was because of Lillie getting kidnapped.

I'm imagining a scenario where Gladion escaped with Type:Null AND Cosmog, which means he would end up getting kidnapped or having Cosmog stolen from him, which would lead you to raiding the Aether Foundation again.

Or something along those lines...Don't mind me, I'm just trying to make excuses as to why Lillie should be canned.

I see the same 2 guys repeating that Lillie is the main girl in every thread she's mentioned in (or not, like this one), this never happened for any other girl and wouldn't happen for Lillie if it was clear that she's the main girl. Besides, there are still frequent arguments over who's the main girl in the anime threads, after two years. That says a lot.

Now yes, but it wasn't immediately obvious unlike previous generations where there either was only 1 girl in the main cast or the alternative was someone like Bonnie. Lillie's popularity definitely originated from her game counterpart.

That's about as close to "immediate" as you can get; not in the first episode, but it's established early enough that Lillie is going to be important.
