What is the ideal number of rotating ingame team?

If I want to RP all the friendship and bonding stuff with my ingame team, but still kinda rotate and manage a diverse team. 7 pokemons? 8 pokemons? 10 pokemons?

Depends on the game.

I'd suggest 6-8 pre-Gen 6. Rotating out more than two is going to end with you being severely under-leveled.

X/Y and onward however, you could probably do 8-12. I personally used 12 Pokémon on my first Sun playthrough, using each Pokémon for at least the length of about 1 island of gameplay. Was a decently fun experience.

Also HM Slaves are for faggots, this is Pokémon, you'll survive spreading out HM's across your team.

6 at most and you should also box enough Pokémon to match the gym leaders team in order to have a fair gym battle pre- gen 7.
