>>36108340>the card ban episodebased Pokemon TCG striking pretty much every country's school
people didn't even know how to play them or yugioh but even then made up some meme rules and used them, otherwise mostly were just collectors, stickers albums were also huge, in general, we even had some vendors outside of school selling animal stickers lol
also thanks to the cards i have discovered two of my favorite ever toy stores, one was shut down but the older one is still alive, truly a magic place for collectors of every gender, their place is filled of action figures, models of game characters and transports, scale models, DIY kits, hobby tools, the place is as filled as those massive akihabara anime, manga and vidya stores except located in a backalley right next to the central town
that shop was like narnia, narrow paths, lot of showcases, not only magic cards and pokemon or other famous series but also niche ones...the smell of the card packages and the new deck arrivals, oh boy, pretty sure everyone was unaware of when the new deck series were coming here in europe so it was also a surprise, i begin to understand the collector maniacs now and the charm of old leading shops selling historic and artisan brands over the internet stores
that shop is exactly what i imagine /tg/ would look like if it was a home, the surrounding area even looks like a rpg map, the central town has a medieval base and the eventual mix of the following ages, pebbles on the streets, architecture, the shop has a narrow gallery hall and one of the sides with the shop windows is on another old narrow street, the shop windows part right there is protected by the two palaces connecting with each other so you can peacefully spend your time looking at all the models and packages in the exhibition during rain or snow when it's christmas is close, plus that street doesn't have much pedestrian traffic either
