Also, I don't just pirate their games. I've bought every one, including spin-offs, all the way back to gen 1 and I've even imported a few. Though most people don't import games, I believe that most people do actually buy them, considering they apparently alienated normies enough that Game Freak not only had to simplify the series but also commission a mobile game that really didn't last long in hopes of bringing them back into the fold. But even still, for the dead simple RPG series that is apparently kryptonite to the normies, it literally still sells the same amounts as it did starting with gen 2, routinely pulling in over a billion per generation. So there's that.
Fundamentally, though, it isn't betrayal. I don't put faith or trust in companies, because that's dumb. It's frustration and disappointment that I've lost another series I liked to this shit, and evidently for no good reason, since while GO was briefly popular and momentarily lucrative (generating 1.8bn in lifetime revenue to date) GF's efforts to appeal to them have proven to have been fruitless thus far. So now it's up to LGPE to determine the value of their efforts.
Also, you probably will 'see' me in November, but not because I am buying LGPE. I have no intention of doing that and unlike a lot of folks out there, I don't have a need to buy things to simply be part of the trend or whatever. I am a stubborn that doesn't go back on his decisions.
