Why are the 3d models so terrible? Instead of making new sprites for each new generation, they're just reusing the same bad models now. Will they ever be updated?

You're a fucking dumbshit. The whole point of that timesink into the 3D models in Gen 6 instead of expanding the games more was to make them futureproof. We're going to have these models throughout the Switch.

I think the models are fine, but their poses/colours are off. Also they're way too idle, swaying doesn't cut it. That can all be worked on, too, without having to redo the actual models.

i have to disagree with you there. i've gained an appreciation for mons i overlooked back when they were 2D, like Slowpoke or Makuhita for example, since 3D breathed some life into them and they look more adorable as a result.
conversely, some i found repulsive back then look even more hideous, like Raticate

The models are FINE. Instead of updating them, they should get more appropriate battle stances and attack animations. Maybe higher resolution textures too.

The models were retardedly overdone, to the point that they are partially the reason gen 6 and 7 run like shit.
