Im trying to figure out where does LGPE fit in the universe of Pokemon. At first I thought it takes place in the Mega universe, and that maybe LGPE includes mega pokemon... Until I realized you can't equip items to your Pokemon on LGPE...
So frustrating, what do you think /vp/?

It's in the LG timeline, which runs concurrently from the main series timeline existing separately as per the multiverse.

Yes. My company literally has a couple people whose job it is to keep the lore straight. Not just across each individual game but the intersecting timelines the games represent.

Im so fucking sick to death of retards that think the first 5 gens are mutually exclusive from the mega timeline.

Let's Go is in the same place Gen 1 has always been, at the start. The timeline it is in is irrelevant. It's at the start of all timelines.

Some rumors suggest that Let's Go takes place in some sort of situation after Red and Blue have gone on their journeys, which would mean that the timeline is vastly different since Red and Blue didn't have to deal with Team Rocket (or if they did, they weren't able to finish the job).

Well technically speaking yes, this could be the first time a Gen 1 game would be explicitly alt universe and not canon to the subsequent games, like how other Gen 1 games explicitly leads into Gen 2 with Blue and Red and Rocket and whatnot.

But we still see that Let's Go is set in the same timeframe, and its too early to tell just how detatched from the other Gen 1 games it is. It's entirely possible that LGPE will still feature Red and Blue (as the leaker suggested) who could become Champions at some point before you do, which theoretically still let LGPE fit continuity-wise in the Gen 1 slot in the timeline like all the others before it. That's my personal theory as to how they're going to handle it anyways. One version with Blue as the Champ, one with Red. Friendly Rival aint gonna be shit.

We'll see though.

Honestly while there is clearly some chronology going on, you should just assume from this point on any given game takes place in one of the metric fuck ton of universes floating around in ultra space or w/e unless proven otherwise. Would save you the headache.

I mean, they kinda have to be? Prior to Gen 6 the Hoenn and Kanto games took place around the same time, but Gen 6 and 7 imply Red did his shit before ORAS happened.
