>>36119956Tyranitar had to be given a shit ton of advantages to validate its horrendously shitty typing:
- 600 base stat total, which means that many of its stats can be really high for Pokemon standards (134 base attack, 100/110/100 bulk, respectable 95 base special attack if you want to hit physical walls)
- Sand Stream (50% buff to Special Defense when sent out in sand)
- Can learn a wide variety of powerful STAB and coverage moves
- Can learn several good support moves such as Stealth Rock, Dragon Tail, and Pursuit.
- Has a Mega Evolution that gives it a slight speed buff, respectable bulk increases, and a strong attack buff.
Any dual Rock-type Pokemon can be great if they had everything Tyranitar does. If another Rock/Dark Pokemon came out, and it didn't have any of this, it would be guaranteed PU shit.
