besides the lack of rules, like Red using 4 pokemon winning from the Green that used only 3, and bad villains, type Bryce that with Team Rocket, tried to go back in time and almost destuiu everything just to save Lapras stupid

I feel like it's pretty good and the OCs are okay (Emerald aside), but I think the writer is really stymied by his insistence on making a story for every remake, which very clearly requires backpedaling over things he wrote previously.

Im no expert of the whole series, but its a pretty nice read, it's a different take on on the series, battles are enjoyable and you get to see other mons in action from different characters. Its nothing like watching the anime and seeing the same 5-10 the whole season, you actually get variety on the action that happens.

Plus important OC characters not present in the games are a big no-no for me.

Better than the anime, at least, but it gets kinda dumb at points. Also, what >>36120436 said. It can be lewd. Now if that's good or bad, that can vary.

To be fair, I think Yellow, Crystal and Platinum (third versions can count as remakes right) pulled it off in that they were just silly extensions to play with the setting. HeartGold/SoulSilver is ironically one of the absolute worst plots though, with Emerald coming right alongside it.

Technically Crystal didn't get a real arc, elements from the game were just put into the GS arc like what's happening with SM and USUM.

i like every arc except remake arcs (like frlg, hgss, oras)
gen 1 is good
gen 2 is a bit chaotic
gen 3 is good, also chaotic
gen 4 is good
gen 5 is mixed for me, tons of padding for no reason
gen 6 manga was good
gen 7 is ok

Overrated, worse than the anime somehow.

Then again, I didn't read ALL of the manga, just all of Kanto through Hoenn. So maybe the writing picks up at like idk Unova.

Ruby and Sapphire and Diamond and Pearl are widely considered to be the best arcs, with GSC and BW trailing close behind, if you don't like shonen in general then you won't like this.

Yellow was fine because he seemed to be aware of what he wanted to do with it. Compare that to, say, ORAS where he has to bring back Maxie and Archie and change their appearance and personalities.
