>>36122288In my opinion, Pokemon is at it's best when the story is centered around you and your adventure. In gen 7 you don't even feel like the main protagonist, you're just standing around while the story happens around you. If they find a way to have a more in-depth story without using a fuckton of cutscenes and having the player character be a third wheel (while not compromising their status as a self-insert), then great! But until they can pull that off, I'm under the impression that Pokemon is best with a more simple, subdued story
