I replayed them on 3DS when they came out on virtual console. Graphics don’t really bother me, especially Crystal because the sprites are well made and it’s a really comfy aesthetic.

It's far more playable than any modern pokemon game considering you can actually play. Pressing buttons initiates actions instead of overly long animations. One turn battles take 15 seconds and not 60.

as long as a game is fun to play i don't care how basic the graphics are.... unfortunately i don't find then gen one games fun compare dot later games in the series. I can understand liking it when it's the only one, but the are simply other Pokemon games that are more fun to play.
