Personally, I get a little bit more annoyed when the games pull a Lilligant or Tsareena. These are fantastic beasts we’re talking about. Real-world animals rarely adhere to human standards of masculine and feminine appearance- in fact, the exact opposite is often true (e.g. peacocks, guppies,) so why should these whimsical monsters? I think that if these creatures can shoot fire, be made of metal, and breed with entirely different varieties different wildly in size and physiology, then it really shouldn’t be too out-there for a feminine-looking species of sea lions that can be either male or female to exist.
