Ok, so, for some stupid reason I got my facts mixed up in the past and I always thought it was Blaine who created Mewtwo. However, I just read up on Mewtwo's history and holy shit, Fuji being Mewtwo's creator makes so much more sense.
It also shows that Fuji was a huge asshole in the past. He might seem kind now, but when he met Mew he was a power hungry scientist that didn't mind experimenting on the fetus of a sacred creature. No wonder he's constantly trying to atone for his sins, tending to the cubone and graveyard. Hell, he even put up a sign on Faraway Island that begs for ONLY kind-hearted people to enter, which imo hints that he considers his past-self someone who was not kind-hearted.
On a side note, I think it would be an interesting element in the whole great war theory. Imagine Fuji being the Pokemon version of Oppenheimer.
