Can someone remind me which of these games had an issue? I can remember one of them being the better choice but I can't recall why.

Yeah, it has access to one more gen 2 mon than FR does due to the gen 2 evolutions/preevolutions for the exclusives not matching up entirely.

sorry if this is lazy of me to ask here but is there an easy way to play this on a 3ds yet while being able to activate ancient events? probably through a flashcart, right? I'm not sure if those work for GBA or just DS though

I just bought a leafgreen cart from a local store, making sure to ask if they were sure it wasnt a bootleg.
The sticker checks out, there is no "previous save file will be loaded" message and the faint lettering above the nintendo seal is there. What isnt there, is the date on the inside of the cartridge, next to the nintendo stamp. It looks like this inside, which according to at least one blog is real. Can anyone verify?
