I've only read Pokemon Adventures, it's not fantastic. It would be worse if you didn't play the games. Most of the enjoyment comes from the Pokémon aesthetic that you get most from playing HGSS

The only spinoff that compares well to the main games at all is Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness/Time/Sky
The only one I haven't tried out is the manga, which I might one of these days who knows

Seems I have to explain my life story for you to understand.

I love the games. I love the pokemon themselves and the lore behind them. I love the characters in the games, I love the stories in the games, I love the regions and the music in the games, and I love the concept of having humans and creatures other than humans getting along and working together so harmoniously.
I don't dislike any of the other aspects at all, I just prefer the main stuff a lot more. I like the anime, but I wouldn't usually voluntarily watch it if it was available to me. I don't buy merch because I don't need it to be content. I only go to the spinoffs when I'm insanely fucking bored and have nothing else to do.
Does any of that actually sound like a simple game tie-in to you?

The whole point of my post is that you can consider yourself a fan if you like aspects of the franchise other than the mainline games. If you actively mock the idea of other people liking other aspects of the franchise, how can you consider yourself a fan? You don't have to like everything TPC shits out, but you're seriously deluded if you can't recognize that some people like PMD, some like the manga, the anime, whatever more than the RPGs.

If you don't like the direction the games are going but you still enjoy other things that Pokemon has to offer, then you're a fan. If you like one specific part of the franchise, you're still a fan. If you happen to dislike a few things, you're still a fan. But if you actively disown every part of the franchise that you don't like and mock others for liking those elements, you're not a fan. You just happen to like a few of the games. And that's completely fine.

I don't think I can translate all that into a legible greentext, so if you still don't understand my point, then I'll just have to register you as a retard.
