Gamefreak wanted to do something big and special with this one. They really focused on the Pokemon. "Stands" are the gimmick this time around.

This new gimmick is exclusive to some of the original 151 Pokemon and a few Gen 8 ones (like two of them).

[spoilers]There will be 80 new Pokemon to catch, with most of them being evolutions/ prevolutions/ based on Gen 1 Pokemon because gamefreak wants to pander to the "most popular market"[/spoilers]

With lots of violent games coming out these days with super high def graphics, they wanted to simplify the graphics in this game even further to ensure parents its a "safe game"

Because of violence and because its a bit complicated, Pokemon Lets Go catching mechanics will return and battles have been removed. They are replaced with dances similar to the Contest but more streamlined
