Would you agree that GF's rigid adherence to obligatory regionals, such as The Pidgey, The Rattata, The Caterpie, The Pikachu, etc has been detrimental to the dex as a whole?

Without looking it up, can you even tell me what the stat differences are between Butterfree, Beautifly, and/or Vivillon? What moves some learn that others don't? Abilities?

the pattern in itself isn't inherently bad, it's whenever they stick to it too much that it's shitty.
e.g Talonflame being part fire made it awesome instead of another shitty normal/flying bird.
