The only reason they're not literal copy-pasts is because their designs are uglier and they have better stats than their Kanto counterparts. They're still derivative and definitely not well-done considering Unova pokemon's infamously terrible movesets.

-Gigalith is leagues better. Golem doesn't make any sense

Imagine being this deluded. There's no way Golem is better than Gigalith design wise. Conk is much more interesting to look at than Machamp.

my only problem with golem is that he has like reptile limbs and head, instead of those being rock protrusions like his earlier forms

the split rock ball part is cool, and so is the fact that he pulls into it to roll around

the only thing I dont like about gigalith is his eyes/mouth

It depends. Tympole and Palpitoad are inferior to Poliwag and Poliwhirl but Seismitoad is a better final evolution since Poliwrath is just an angry Poliwhirl. The Hitmons are also better than Sawk and Throh.
