>>36166229>YW3 has shown more progress in gameplay than Pokemon in 20 yearsWell, to be fair, the first YW games were awful in terms of gameplay. Pretty much anything they did about it would have been an improvement. Pokemon gameplay was always simple as fuck, but at least it was entertaining from the beginning. No need to fix what isn't broken. And even then, GF improved a lot of it during the years, just in the shape of small and often quality of life changes. The bag, the pc boxes, the special split and then the physical and special split; the battle menus, the simplified yet not too dumbed down breeding in gen VI, the alternative ways of EV training in the form of mini games and horde battles, etc. They did stupid stuff, of course, like having only HGSS making good use of the touch screen in both gen IV and V (and not ever including auto run after that again), ditching out the PSS for that horrid festival plaza, etc. But overall, GF has made constant progress in terms of gameplay. It's the other departments they usually fuck up in, aka: adding meaningful content to the games, balancing difficulty, getting rid of good features just for the sake of uniqueness, and designing the overworld in the blandest way they can get away with. Not to mention general laziness, such as giving every NPC the same three animations in gen 7, not giving iconic pokemon special animations for their signature moves, and not giving a fuck when they make a trailer where one can see clipping, frame rate drops, etc.
