>gen 2much slower than newer gens, but not stall necessarily. typical offense pokemon like egg, snorlax, zapdos all take respectable hits because of how stats work in gens 1/2, so games just inherently last longer. think of it as a chess match where you slowly improve your position, rather than just blowing shit up. actually that's a lie, there's a ton of explosion these days so you do often just blow shit up and try to capitalize on whatever you killed.
