Look up okapi. They have a disting color/design change on the back half of their bodies, it almost looks like two animals were sewn together, easy to see where they got the inspiration. Okapi look like giraffes so thats where they obviously got the name

It's not the worst pokemon, baton pass and sap sipper are a pretty nice combination, and it's type combo lets it mess with leach seeders, ghost/grass types, spore users etc. Also has access to some decent support moves like trick, thunder wave, trick room, wish, gravity. It's probably pretty usable in lower tiers.

Psychic Fangs destroys Light Screen, Reflect, and Aurora Veil. And Aurora Veil has become popular lately because of Alolan Ninetails. Girafarig is one of two Pokemon that can learn Psychic Fangs and get STAB for it, the other being Bruxish.
