>>36167103The only thing Silph Co has over New Mauville is the lack of random encounters. If Silph Co also had magnemite everywhere, it would have been worse.
There is something satisfying about running around and gradually securing the entire building, but hunting for the single warp panel which the creators decided to arbitrarily connect to progress is something I could do without, and I'm sure they could come up with an alternative which is more satisfying if they really wanted to.
That said, it's GF, and they'll probably just copy/paste the whole thing from RBY, but tack on 10 different cutscenes where Trace leads you to the right panel ("Woah, <Player>, come check this out! These are warp panels! Step on them and they'll take you somewhere else! I bet the panel we need to reach the top is in here somewhere..." -> "Hm, I think the warp panel we need is on F9..." -> "Hm, this panel looks suspicious, doesn't it, <Player>? I wonder where it goes..." -> "Wow, we found the right panel! Giovanni's just ahead! Here, let me heal your party!" -> "Whoops, I hear Giovanni uses Ground-type pokemon! You'll need to show me a water or grass type before I can let you through!").
