You posted my favorite game. It was a toss up between it and Silver. Hoenn is a nice region and I like the Pokémon distribution and frontier. Weather trio are my favorite box legends aside from Lugia as well.

I also sort of like ORAS because of the blatant waifubait. Guilty admission, but I can’t help it.

HGSS. Johto was already a very pleasant region due to its structure, individual locations and soundtrack. Remakes added a lot of cool content (e.g. Safari Zone and Pokeathlon), "fixed Kanto" and included many unique elements (following Pokemon, background SFX, lampposts in towns etc.). I really appreciate that the world feels more alive as well - events related to the day of the week as well as gym leaders appearing outside of their gyms help a lot.

My man. 3D games are garabge all around but the biggest thing missing is replay value. With older games I would reset and beat it again. I have no desiere to sit through cutscenes and framerate drops in modern titles multiple times.
