As a fan of drastic evolutions(as long as they make sense), I do agree that a basic progression would be better as the foliage is the main focus of the line. If Gamefreak didn't design evolutions that only possessed similarities of the pre evo rather than being the pre-evo with some slight tweaks, I wouldn't have been critical on your favorite NFE
