It depends upon how much you like it and how literally autistic you are.
In general I like changing things up because I do tend to get bored easily, but it doesn't mean I won't lock myself in when I'm in the mood. Sometimes I'll put on a playlist of different music, and sometimes I'll play the same song 24/7 for 3 months every waking moment (not joking - though it's the only time it was this bad, after Bravely Default hit stateside I played Edea's theme Baby Bird like that, downloaded an hour long version and played that 1 minute or so song tens of thousands of times).
Pokémon is the best example of this though... If it were true that you'd absolutely get bored of something you did a lot, I'd not have spent 7 years worth of hours playing over the last 20 years.
Until mid-Sun and Moon, I played an average of about 8 hours a day every day and, on occasion, even the full 24.
