Just bought this for $22.
I sold my copy of OG Sun because of Ultra being announced. Never finished it, though.

Flawed, but I liked it. Not the worst in the series, not the best but I think it's on the better side of the spectrum. That's just me. All I want a skip cutscene option, but otherwise, replay-ability is pretty good.

I'm the minority, I just play the game pretty vanilla. What I like to do is use a different team each play. I think it's nuzlocke friendly, tho I never done one. I just enjoy the base game so you'd have to ask someone else.

Set is how the game is played against other people, Switch is a rule change that benefits the player alone, the AI doesn't make use of it.
The game is EXTREMELY stacked in the player's favor in the first place, do you really need another advantage?
I haven't played in Switch since gen 2.

Not OP, but thought I'd ask but why do you want Pokemon more challenging? It's not wrong, but I don't understand. There's a thousand better games that exist if you want a challenge, but you try to make a casual JRPG challenging? Is it to see if you can or are games with real, built-in challenge not enough?

How do you not understand wanting to make Pokemon harder? The single player is the definition of wasted depth because there's no challenge, by adding challenge you make the depth come out and shine.

Seriously, I don't understand what you're trying to get to at all. Lack of challenge is not a defining characteristic of the game, people like the game despite it, not because of it, and some want a higher challenge so they do what they can to get it. All I said is I don't understand. I never said it's wrong or stop, but that I don't understand why. I play Pokemon, I beat it, I stop playing and I play something with real challenge. Once I get my fill of getting good at a game that requires it, I sometimes go back to Pokemon. I don't understand why people want pokemon hard when there's thousands of other games that can fill their desire. It's the same as Mario romhacking when you could play the countless hard platformers on Steam. Again, it's not wrong, but I just don't get spending your time making something easy harder, when you could just be playing something legit harder.

Only Mario has Mario mechanics.
The challenge is not the defining characteristic of a video game series, not even in meme games. It's always a million other things that makes a game what it is, and some people that like those things also want a challenge.
This is really NOT hard to grasp, it's basically intuitive.

Like I said, I don't get it. The mechanics don't have to be the same to enjoy something else. Let's make this clear, it's just an opinion. If you can make Pokemon hard by your standards, awesome, but nobody said anything that changed my mind that you could just play something else. Perhaps we can drop it, Kirby just updated and I want to focus on that. Thanks for replying tho.

I know Ultra is supposed to be the crystal/emerald/platinum equivalent to Sun and Moon (which is why I bought it), but I don't really know all the differences.

I play a lot of JRPGs and have yet to discover one that's challenging. The genre itself isn't meant for challenge.

Also people that think pokemons bogged down with cutscenes and inane dialogue? Hoo boy. They don't know shit. Todays JRPG lives and breathes on the whole "every person present in a scene has to say something" thing.
