All of /vp/ is put into generation 1, they have to defeat the pokemon league. Real world physics apply when needed, so falling down a cave pit would break your legs.

desu with pokemon rules it doesnt matter if we're 100 or 1
regardless biggest problem is stamina and food
if we can get in celadon city before colapsing, we can get water, lemonade and carbon/proteins
probably not enough to walk, use bycycle across an entire region (if the word is large like the real world and not in poemon scale)
rock tunnel and mt moon are extremely dangerous since zubat are large enough to harm a male adult with its fangs, so stock up on repel
just make sure you dont get killed by the lavender town ghost or beat up by the rocket grunts/giovanni (might be the biggest problem but if we're ~100 with a full pokemon party to protect us, it should be fine)

Assuming I don't get a starter, I beg Oak for some pokeballs and begin the process of capturing pokemon with the help of fellow anons and human intellect.
Go to route 22, if we are in Yellow it should be easy to catch and level up a Nidoran or Mankey to learn a fighting type move, if not evolve a Metapod into a Butterfree and get Sleep Powder + Confusion, if its not remake Brocks pokemon can be oneshot, if its remake put them to sleep then two shot them.
Continue training pokemon to wipe the gym leaders and eventually we all get fly and soar off on Pidgeys.

Also, gen 1 only has one use for the Escape Rope: to escape. OP also defines the world as being gen 1. Only the rules of gen 1 apply.

How many NPC's are there in gen 1? Probably about the same number as anons put in the region.
