GameFreak is still just a snall studio with almost no employees. They can't be making unique animations for 1000+ Pokemon with 500+ different moves they learn.
The animations we have right now are already impressive as is anyways and I don't see any reason to expect that they can be improved.

Pokemon has adult fans too and it's very much accepted that everyone wants the games to be enjoyable with a focus on discovery. Many want the games to be reminding them of their childhood, the fans who want Pokemon to become edgy teen drama are an incredibly small minority.

Pokemon's audience gets replaced every generation. For every older fan that leaves, ten more little kids come in and replace them.

That's the nature of Pokemon, the audience is constantly revolving. Older fans outgrow the series, and new kids replace them, in a never-ending cycle.

Why doesn't pokemon use the same method digimon does when making animations and give all pokemon 1 or 2 exclusive moves to their line with their own unique animation and then keep the rest as generic attacks?
besides it requiring them to either add a 5th move slot or making one of the current 4 unchangable

we literally saw metalgreymon's attack from the front and rear looking different in the second video. At best, you can suppose they mirrored attacks from the left and right perspectives, but that's still 3 x 3.

I think you're trying to say Pokemon have enough move variety to beat Megas, right? If that's the case, you're a goddamn moron. Yes a water Digimon can learn Water I, Water II and Water III inspiring movepool.
Also because all moves are the same but different power it means all Digimon are the same, there's no strategy just pick the Digimon with the best attack stat load them with the best move and you're done.

You misunderstood, Digimon signature moves don't even show the enemy Digimon until they're hit, I'm talking about Primarina slowly pushing a giant bubble as it slowly moves toward a Pokemon just standing there, or Mimukyu spitting a Pokemon slowly drifting in its standing animation.

Anon, the same applies to Pokemon, there's Water Gun to Hydro Pump, Bubble to Bubblebeam, Ember to Flamethrower or even Fire Blast, most of the "diverse" moves you speak of are NEVER used well into mid or late game. Have you seen ANYONE pick Ember, Water Gun, Leaders, Tackle and so on competitively or even midway through the goddamn game? That's because they're made to be replaced.

Wrong again, friend continuing from what I said, the signature moves are more than just big flashy attacks, Digimon like Jesmon act as giant shields or MarineAngemon as a healer, The moves that are learnable act as coverage because typings act very differently from Pokemon's, I recommend looking something up before acting like a smartass.

Last time I cheek, Digimon can't learn all the move! Unless they are some moves that Digimon can learn that are exclusive some game and has nothing to do with their species or type. For example, you don't expect me to believe that MetalGarurumon can use Gaia Force or Terra Drill or Brave shield.
A pokemon has huge movepool and choosing better attack for them makes the game more interesting and fun. Since you have to think the moveset for Digimon. Many Pokemon can various move that can learn moves of various elemental that should be enough to take them down. In fact Superpower + Bulk Up should be enough to take down multiple pokemon.

You're new to Pokemon, aren't you? What happens if that strategy is used on a Pokemon who is a ghost type? Or what if the opposing Pokemon is extremely Bulky or moves and hits very hard? What if your Pokemon has low HP?

Pokemon Battles is MUCH more than just what move combinations you have. Typings and Stats also play a key role, that also applies to Digimon.

Besides, you can use literally use the same mon to do each of those roles because what you say is possible for literally every mon. You also have to choose the equips carefully and predict enemy equips, otherwise you get stuff like this.

The big problem in the meta is that int stat is not split like the attack and defense stat, gen I style.

Pokemon is mainly focused on leveling and using items or trading, but some like Wurmple are based on pure fucking luck, for Digimon it's similar to Tyrogue but you can choose WHEN to digivolve them and what they become, it also helps that they can devolve too. Nope, Digimon can learn selective moves that were for every Digimon. However they can't learn other Digimon moves.

Sakkakumon ability to use other attack was equalivant of a pokemon using Mimic, Copycat and Mirror Attack.

Nope, Digimon adsorbing other defeated Digimon data was exclusive to Tamer. In other Digimon series, Digimon doesn't get absorb after getting killed by another Digimon but instead they are reborn again.
Plus, Beelzemon using Leomon attack was an one time thing that probably happened because Leomon inside Beelzemon probably wanted to rescue Jerry.

Except Eeveelution are simple since they all come from Eevee, We don't see a Meowth or Growlth evolving into Flareon or Umbremon. Imagine all Electric pokemon can evolve into any Electric pokemon, that would be a mess.
But Digimon doesn't seem to have any evolution system. Utraforce-Veedramon is obviously V-mon evolution but you can have Agumon and Growlmon evolving into Ultraforce-Veedramon.

Yeah no, there's builds for OU and I here, and guess what? THOSE Pokemon are, to nobody's surprised, are used the most. Even crazier, those sets Smogon makes are used for tournaments, and those make it the furthest.

Every single Digimon has at least 1 to 2 signature moves with good animation, with about 300, Digimon, that's much more than 1 compared to Pokemon, who's even their signature moves can look like complete shit.
