>>36211470>You have some explaining to doVery well:
So in these games they player is limited to a small pool of pokemon to chose from. This is gives a level of challenge to a game that uses the same battle mechanics and rules as the main line series with the addition of shadow pokemon.
Giving you a small pool of pokemon to choose from as well as a limited number of tms made for a fairly challenging game in the main line series without having to forcibly handicap yourself by way of nuzloke.
On top of this, it's also the first time Ai in these games was actually somewhat competent, all the admins had their own gimmicks utilizing double battles and the new weather mechanics introduced in gen 3.
Did I mention the music? Phenominal, amazing.
This is also the first in the series to have more characters who could just "be" (Mior B, Gonzap, the power rangers, just to name a few).
And again, I am in now way saying this is nessissarily a hard game, it has its challenges to be sure, but it's a much more rewarding main line pokemon game in ot's own right.
I do have a lot of gripes with the game, but I'l save those for when I'm not gushing. Granted, several of them are fixed in the second game, so they improved it
