Plusle and Minun did gangbusters merchwise to the point they were still selling shit like salt shakers, chopsticks, baby hoodies, etc well into 4th gen - even eclipsing Pachirisu's merch.

And I wish this shit would stop. I’d honestly rather get zero new Pokémon than get another set of rip-offs. Just use older Pokémon to fill all of those slots in the game, and any new Pokémon could actually be good and original. The Pokédex is so bloated with shit.

Emolga, Dedenne and Togedemaru aren't totally useless, they at least have uncommon typings (even if they are outclassed by other pokemon with the same typings) and have a bit of a niche in some tiers.
