Like, seriously. Just a bunch of sentient gears floating around and smashing things.
Starmie's one of my favourites because it lacks expression (in the sprites) so you never quite know how it's feeling, then it makes up for it by being extremely expressive in the models. It's fun.

I think the Sandile family looks like it belongs to a different gen. They just somehow din't fit the design of gen V. Boldore is fucking cool because his design is simple with a nice color pallet. Most of the other mons are overdesigned or have a fucking SHIT color palette. They all have fucking ugly colors that don't mix. Chandelure, Volcarona and maybe Excadrill have a nice, eye pleasuring color palette.

Anyways, I like quite a few pokemon. I don't think there is any "Shit" pokemon that nobody likes, every one of them has their Niche

Except for luvdics, they had a chance to redeem themselves by making Alomamola from gen 5 it's evolution and buffing it's stats, but just like my bro Farefetch'd, it will always be a shitty first stage pokemon without an evolution

This. I've always liked gears, cogs, and gear/cog-like elements in designs. Whenever I design a new weapon or character, I try to incorporate something gear-like into it, especially steampunk designs.

I like Volcarona too but I still think Gen 5 a shit. There's a handful of its Pokemon that I think are great like Krookodile/Galvantula/Whimsicott, etc but there's too much trash like monkeys, genie, the starters that soil the whole gen. There's just too much garbage to excuse.

I liked Klinklang so much when it was first revealed.
Then its stats, movepool, and abilities came out and it pretty much fell off my radar entirely.
Had it gotten Rock Tomb, Bulldoze, maybe Flame Wheel, and Technician yeah I get that it's more about dexterity, but it sorta fits with being able to launch and retrieve its gears with any degree of accuracy as a Hidden Ability, it might've been one of my favorites.

I could compromise and say Gen 5 did have the weirdest, most unappealing designs in any Gen(so far), but I don't see them as the majority. Excadrill, Ferrothorn, the fossils, Haxorus, Braviary, Chandelure, Hydreigon, Golurk, almost all of Gen 5's other bugs, and so on are all great. And I think the Genies were redeemed design wise with their Therian formes.
