>>36215597I'm pretty sure that there are some things that require you to play as Wario. And no, the controls in the original are enough to make it superior, even if you take away all the interesting glitches. I played both games at the same time for the first time, so the nostalgia excuse doesn't work on me. The original has better controls, better movement and better moveset.
If you're going to bring up the DS version having more content, most of it has pretty boring level design and the only interesting new character to play as is Yoshi. Plus a lot of SM64 mods are a lot better than anything new in SM64DS.
Star World looks great though, I haven't tried Skelux's emulator controller setup yet but from what I've seen it might work pretty well, particularly with the Odyssey-style moveset. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8beFV_BunWw
