Don't take me wrong: that's a clever business decision. But GF's other problem is that they make awful decisions and stick to them to death, like introducing a new feature, one that fans might love, only to drop it in the next games for the sake of uniqueness. Or thinking that the long time, "hardcore" fans are happy just with online battling and a reskinned battle tower, and that everything else doesn't matter. Now, they are trying to get the pokemon GO audience with LGPE, under the excuse of it being an 'introductory game' so they'll have an easier time dealing with gen 8. We are talking about people who chimped out when pokemo GO added pokemon past gen one, and somehow GF thinks they'll accept 900+ pokemon in 2019, all while alienating the players that do play the main series.
