I had to stop playing vidya for some time in gen5, and now it's the only generation I haven't touched. Practically all I know about it it's what I've read here.
Finally made myself with a pair of carts, gonna play it for the first time.
But I have 2 doubts.

Is it true that the starters are underpowered for the main quest? I hear a lot of people dropped them, are they that unfun to use?
And Excadrill it's among my favorite designs I want to use, but I've read a lot of times he's a monster ingame. Is he too op? I've read it can trivialize the rest of your team, and that kinda sounds too easy.
