Lusamine, for example, gets completely fucked. Where did she properly meet the Ultra Recon Squad and why is she helping them? Who the fuck knows. Whatever reason it completely fucks up her character motivation.
Not to mention post game she then meets her husband (a source of some of the fuckery on her part in the originals) and just let's him go, as does one of the kids who you'd think would care who saw the interaction.
Then there's the Battle Agency which is basically just the Battle Factory but shittier because you need real people to help you and they need to be regularly online or you need to grind out like 400 battles in a couple days before they're locked out...
Oh, and can't forget the Ultra hallway which was basically meaningless and let's you learn nothing about the URS or the people living there in general.
Forcing you to go Mantine Surfing after the first island rather than leaving the boat cutscene (which already existed for fuck sake) as an option... Adding a cutscene to explain how to use motherfucking LEDGES.
Even the Rainbow Rocket episode isn't really worth it mostly because it just sets up for disappointment
Giovanni gets away and still has the ability to pass through Ultra Wormholes but even if they bother actually continuing it, they're probably just going to fuck it up even more so meh - they're just trying to get your hopes up. Fuck 'em.Some of it was done better, and if you want proper access to everything the Gen has to offer it's definitely worth it, but I couldn't in good conscience tell anyone to buy US/UM if they've played the originals and don't care about competitive or one of the new Pokémon, really.
