I was referring to the having your Pokemon follow you gimmick, which was done better in Yellow.

does anyone make rom hacks or mods for the newest games? i was pretty excited to play something newer since its been so long but this is basically unbearable. i'm having a hard time believing things are this bad and i'm seeing it for myself. even just a hold down to fast forward through the endless text button would be great.

Buy a Nintendo DS lite or use the old one, if you have that

Play:
Emerald(GBA)
Platinum(Diamond was the beta)
Black/White and it's sequel, Black/White 2

Fire up Dolphin and also give Colosseum/GoD a try. If you want, you can also re-play Silver with Heartgold/Soul Silver, a remake/ultimate johto experience in the same engine as Diamond

Don't bother with 3ds games, they're trash. Same with lesser/dual versions like ruby/sapphire or diamond/pearl, they're literally just paid betas

B2/W2 are unironically the ultimate pokemon games. End of the original DS era, should be your last games. Get the complete experience and start with the orre GC games or Emerald and go from there, trust me, it's better to see what's changed as you go along, makes you appreciate the experience
