Absol only is if you're not an Absol fan.

Absol fans are mostly comfortable that it got a mega. It has a lot of fan art because of its Final Fantasy-esque look. Whereas I'm pretty sure Abomasnow, Garchomp and Steelix fans often forget they even HAVE a mega.

The support set is the mega. It has a giant movepool that can hit everything in the tier super effectively, can 2hko the most common defoggers easily, can set rocks or DD and sweep on the switch. It's as unpredictable as Greninja. You overestimate the prevalence of rain, which really just has one viable, obvious team structure, so you can play around rain better than they can play around you. Also sand stream overwrites rain whenever tytanitar comes in

Mega Garchomp is the only mega thats a downgrade most of the time

Losing 10+ base speed is not worth the 100+ extra stats plus it eats up a mega slot a far better mega coulda taken

I don't really get it. The thing now looks like the common depiction of a wyvern, or even a fucking Rathalos. Plus it was the only one of the gen 1 fossils to not have any spikes and it looks way meaner than the base one.
