For a game that was supposed to break the mold (no gym leaders, new "not" Pokémon monsters), gen 7 wound up being more by the numbers than anything else.
If Gayfreak is gonna focus on plot at the expense of player agency, the least they could do is make their plot battles actually threating or offer a challenge you wouldn't get outside of single player. You know, like every other major RPG released in the last 10 years.
We live in a world of BotW and Persona. and we get this lazy slop instead
