Although i think is very hard for them to do that, i find it pretty weird and kinda bullshit how the Battle Tree in SM can sometimes find the perfect counter to my team, is like they have been analyzing my battles and try to find a good mon to screw me over.
Like seriously, people call the game easy, but the battle tree is perhaps one of the best battle facilities in terms of challenge, not as good as battle pyramid, but good anyway.

Stop spreading misinformation. It may seem like RNG bullshit, but eventually, even the most improbable odds will happen, because you have to beat the AI hundreds of times, while they only have to roll a number once to screw you. It's all odds.

Programming AI that takes player input into account is actually easier, way easier. If the AI doesn't have access to what the player inputs into the game then it has to actually evaluate way more factors than if it did, it has to actually think and weight in its options and what the player is likely to input. If you give it what the player inputs directly it skips a huge part of the process.

Maybe not always, I would say gen iv battle frontier was the fairest one.
The original frontier and the battle tree on the other hand...

my bug memeteam completed it multiple times to the point that I only run that, all the AI had to do was to put a full flying team, it just creates different team trying to keep some balance and at least 1 will eventually counter yours
there really isn't that much effort behind the system
