How to improve Pokemon games

No.36258718 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
- Doubles are standard format
- You don't "forget" moves, you can select a set of 4 from your movepool any time outside of battle
- You can select a Pokemon at the start of trainer battles. Only wild battles default to your first party Pokemon
- In a gym battle, you can only use as many pokemon as the gym leader
- Branching progression, at given points you can choose from multiple gyms in any order. However, there's a level cap at each point. (level scaling would create 'optimal' progression paths based on relative strength at certain level ranges)
- Bring back gym leader rematches
- IVs are easily adjustable, but only in post game. Egg moves learnable in other ways. Add nature changes or "battle natures." Basically make it possible to make your story bros viable
- Make affection buffs OPTIONAL. I want to be able to feed my pokemon jelly beans without breaking the game
- Much more dynamic animations, if the combat is turn based it should be a spectacle
- Ride Pokemon optional, can use your own Pokemon too, HMs back but they don't take up move slots, they're just overworld functions that unlock with badges
- Battle Frontier back, add inverse battles, keep royal, use gen 7's version of multi battles
- Add randomized dungeons to post game ala Mystery Dungeon/Battle Pyramid, so you can keep going on adventures with your bros. Maybe add multiplayer like Underground
- Add background select in online battles
- Add online gyms, can easily just expand on secret bases. Can recruit other players as trainers
- Either give us the old, interesting versions of safari zone, contests etc or don't have them at all. There's no point in adding them if they're neutered.
- Stop making so many fucking legendaries
