You're also ignoring a lot of the positives, like catching the whole trio, more Secret Base stuff, getting to deal with both Magma and Aqua, choosing which Lati to get, more double battles, gym leader rematches along with more challenging badge matches, free Johto starter, Magma Armor/Flame Body speeding up egg hatching, both fossils, etc, etc.
